Lens & Sky

About Lens & Sky

The people, the purpose, and the honest promise behind our stargazing guides.

We’re a small team of stargazing enthusiasts with a simple goal: to make choosing astronomy gear feel clear, honest, and a little bit wonderful.

Our Mission

Lens & Sky exists to help curious observers choose telescopes and accessories with confidence. We take dense spec sheets and scattered forum wisdom and turn them into plain-English guidance you can actually use. No hype, no pressure — just calmer, clearer help for anyone who loves looking up.

Our Story

Lens & Sky began in 2026 out of a familiar frustration. Buying a first telescope meant wading through jargon, conflicting advice, and marketing copy that explained everything except what actually mattered at the eyepiece. So we set out to build the resource we wished we’d had — warm, careful, and written for real beginners. What started as a handful of buying notes has grown into a full field guide to the night sky.

Why You Can Trust Us

Here’s our promise, along with an important piece of honesty about how we work. We research rather than lab-test. That means we don’t claim to have personally pointed every telescope at the sky. Instead, we read the manuals and spec sheets, compare manufacturer claims side by side, and draw on the collected experience of observers who have used this gear for years.

Then we translate all of it into recommendations we’d feel comfortable giving a friend. When something is a matter of fact, we treat it as fact. When it’s a matter of opinion, we say so. That transparency is the whole point of Lens & Sky.

◆ How we research

Our guidance is based on secondary research — documentation, specifications, and community experience — not hands-on product testing. We think being open about that makes our advice more trustworthy, not less.
